Upon graduating Cum Laude from Yale and with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School where he was named a Baker Scholar, Jack spent twenty years on Wall Street, rising to head of investment banking at PaineWebber. Well before others recognized the significant role that China would play in the global economy, Jack spent three years investigating opportunities in Asia and China, leading to the founding in 1994 of ASIMCO Technologies, a major industrial enterprise, which he built and ran for fifteen years.

Jack serves on the Board of Directors of NASDAQ listed Fushi Copperweld, Inc., the world’s leading bimetallic company with operations in China, the United States and the United Kingdom, and is on the Board of Advisers of Westlake International, LLC, a company whose extensive China expert network provides “on-the-ground” industry information to Western institutional investors. Jack is a member of JP Morgan’s “China Expert Series” and was named a Distinguished Speaker at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Robert also serves as the President of the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund. He has also worked with Simon group Holdings as the Chief Operating Officer, Director at PNC Capital Advisors LLC and Financial Advisor and Rule 144 Specialist at Morgan and Stanley.

Sandy Munro is a frequent speaker and advisor to some of the world’s top executives on implementing change and innovative development strategies. Titled a visionary and master innovator by NASA.

Sandy’s consulting firm, Munro & Associates, Inc., was established in 1988 and focuses its attention on profit improvement through design innovation. Current cutting edge projects Munro are developing include an affordable home wind turbine generator, mega capacity energy storage systems, an electrically powered aircraft, autonomous GA flight systems and light weight materials/processes.

Sandy has chaired and spoken at numerous engineering conferences and symposia across the globe and has lectured at Stanford, Purdue, University of Michigan, Oxford, Warwick, U of W, and many other colleges and universities around the world. Sandy is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Engineering Society of Detroit; he is the Chairman of NASA’s MI SATS (Michigan Small Aircraft Transportation System), a board member of NASA NCAM (National Consortium for Air Mobility)

Timothy is a faculty of aerospace engineering at University of Michigan from 2006 to present. He has a MSE Aero ’98, MSE Nuc Engr ’98 and PhD Aero ’03 from University of Michigan. He also has a MS Ocean Engineering ’95 from George Washington University and a BS Aerospace Engineering ’87 from University of Virginia. His research Interests include Electric propulsion, plasma physics and optical diagnostics. He is also an active member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and American Society for Engineering Education.

R.J. King is Editor of DBusiness magazine and DBusiness Daily News, which he co-founded in 2006 with Hour Media in Troy, Mi, a publisher of more than 60 magazines in 12 states. DBusiness, available as a magazine and a daily newsletter, covers regional and Michigan-based businesses which are growing locally, nationally, or internationally. A graduate of the University of Michigan Dearborn, he started as a business writer at the Detroit News in 1990, where he wrote more than 4,000 articles. He is the author of two books, “8 Track: The First Mobile App” and “Passport to the Corner Office: The Starter’s Guide to Corporate Life.” He is a non-compensated board member of Detroit Aircraft Corp., Beyond Basics, Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce, and the Detroit Athletic Club’s Executives Club.

Jon Rimanelli

Jon is an electronics entrepreneur and private pilot with over 1,000 hours of flight time. He is the founder of Detroit Aircraft and Nextronix Inc.  As a contract electronics manufacturer, Jon spent 20 years prototyping and mass producing high reliability components for automotive, aerospace and communications systems.  Nextronix developed one of the first Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Antennae systems in partnership with Motorola and Wieson Technologies. He is also the founder of Detroit Air Racing Inc.,which lead and facilitated the 2008 Detroit Red Bull Air Races, resulting in over $100 million in economic impact over three years for both Detroit and Windsor Ontario. In 2013, Jon team’s with the Nation’s leading defense contractors to manufacture and distribute the VTOL UAS for civil and commercial customers worldwide.  Detroit Aircraft officially represents the City of Detroit to the Federal Aviation Administration for Detroit’s UAS integration and FAA Certificate of Authorization (CoA).  Mr. Rimanelli is currently serving as a on the ISO US Technology Advisory Committee ISO/TC 20/SC 16 help establish the US position Unmanned Aircraft Systems standards.

FINANCE/OPERATIONS

Seasoned professional with over 20 years management experience in the credit and collections industries.  Led multiple dealer finance activities at Ford Motor Credit and ran a large collection team at Asset Acceptance that was #1 in collections year-over-year.  At Detroit Aircraft, Sean manages the day-to-day finance activities.  This includes,  AP/AR, payroll, HR, purchasing, inventory management and company financials.

Paolo Bianchi

AEROSPACE & CONTROLS ENGINEER

Paolo Bianchi graduated from Politecnico di Milano in Italy with a BS in Aerospace Engineering in 2010 and a MS in Aerospace Engineering in 2011, with a close interest on control theory of single and multi agent systems. He also studied  Artificial Intelligence at the University of Michigan. Paolo did research on unmanned space and aerial systems, focusing on autonomous navigation and mission-related capabilities, flight software and concept design. He has also been involved in different UAS projects, both in USA and in Italy, as team leader and aero expert.

Yizhang Lai is an industrial designer graduated from College for Creative Studies, where he achieved the overall best grade in the Master of Fine Art program of Transportation Design. Originally comes from China, Yizhang also has Bachelor of Engineering degree in Vehicle Engineering at South China Agricultural University. Yizhang is currently working on exterior design and structural engineering for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles at Detroit Aircraft Corporation.

Albert Jose

ELECTRICAL & HARDWARE ENGINEER

Albert is an electrical engineer with a concentration in hardware design. As a former NASA engineer, Albert played an influential role in the development of an aerial vehicle constructed for Mars data collection. In addition, he designed a modular embedded system to be implemented in future NASA aircraft. Albert currently serves as Director of Operations of the Detroit Mobility Park, a non-profit innovation center based out of the Coleman A. Young International Airport. His current work includes development of an obstacle avoidance infrastructure to be utilized in various UAV platforms.

SYSTEMS & STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Flevian is an experienced mechanical engineer graduated with master’s degree from University of Florida. Apart from excellent academics his curiosity about engineering is something which has driven him to take some of the challenging projects like Design & Construction of a scaled Turbojet Engine using a Turbocharger, Research & Development of sternum fixation technique for Biomet© & University of Florida. After completion of bachelor’s degree from University of Mumbai, Flevian joined Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company  as Assistant Manager. Flevian is currently working as lead Structures and Systems engineer at Detroit Aircraft corp. His area of work includes modeling, analysis, fabrication and assembly of a next generation VTOL Passenger Drone.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Nikhil Raje is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from University of Florida with a Master’s degree, specializing in Design, Finite Element Analysis, Optimization and Fluid Dynamics. He originally comes from India where he completed his Bachelor’s also in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mumbai. He is currently working as a Structural Engineering Intern at DAC, with a passion and dream to build a ‘Flying Car’. His area of work includes Design, Analysis, Assembly, Testing and Operation of the next generation point to point passenger mobility solution. He has previously worked at BlackBerry, Florida as a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern.

Qhase is an Industrial Design graduate from the highly ranked College for Creative Studies, with a Master’s degree, specializing in Transportation Design. He has worked with the Mahindra Group at their Composites Division in India specializing in industrial design and engineering for manufacturing using lightweight fiber reinforced composite materials. With a passion for brand design research, exterior and interior concept design, for aircraft and aerospace he works to design and realize the aircraft of the future. Qhase is currently working on exterior, interior design and leads the marketing and brand realization at Detroit Aircraft Corporation.
